Pitt Expands Nanoscience Faculty

Abstract:
The University of Pittsburgh's Gertrude E. and John M. Petersen Institute for NanoScience and Engineering has added 13 affiliated faculty since spring 2005, bringing the total number of researchers to 47. The institute's NanoScale Fabrication and Characterization Facility, to be located in Benedum Hall, will open Sept. 29. The facility, which includes a 4,000-square-foot cleanroom that will house advanced lithography equipment, will enable vertical integration of structures from the nano to the micro to the macro level in conjunction with other University facilities.
