$10M for life sciences center
Abstract:
House 148-3, Senate 38-0, overrode Gov. Romney's veto of $10 million to fund a newly-created Life Sciences Center. The center's focus is to promote biotechnology, nanotechnology, stem cell research and related physical technology fields. Supporters of the $10 million said that the funds would help the center develop the next generation of health-related innovations, lead to breakthroughs and improvements in the treatment of diseases and injuries and enhance the state's competitive position in this growing and important sector of the economy.
