IEST Fall Conference 2006 Registration
Rolling Meadows, IL | Posted on August 08, 2006
Registration for the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST) annual Fall Conference, November 5-8, 2006 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hoffman Estates (near Chicago O’Hare International Airport), Illinois is now open. The meeting will include contamination control working group sessions as well as a variety of tutorial classes covering issues related to cleanrooms and controlled environments.
A new tutorial on Risk Management will be offered this year. The full-day tutorial will focus on the three risk assessment methods: Fault Tree, Failure Modes and Effect Analysis, and Fishbone. Case studies for industrial cleanrooms will be presented and the class will apply these methods to contamination issues. Other tutorials that will be offered will be Nanotechnology Facility Design: The Next Generation of Cleanrooms; Understanding the ISO 14644 Series; Testing to Determine the Classification of Air Cleanliness; and Testing Cleanroom Performance Using ISO 14644-3. All three of the ISO courses are part of the Tutorial Certificate in ISO Test Methods.
John Weaver, Technical Editor of the Journal of the IEST, will be instructing the Nanotechnology Facility Design: The Next Generation of Cleanrooms tutorial. He is the manager of the Birck Nanotechnology Center facility at Purdue University. All of the ISO 14644 series tutorials will be taught by Robert Mielke, principal metrology engineer at Abbott Laboratories and Secretary for ISO Technical Committee 209, Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments. Anne Marie Dixon will be instructing the new tutorial, Applying Risk Management to Contamination Control. She is an IEST Fellow and Past President as well as Chair of the United States Technical Advisory Group (US TAG) to ISO Technical Committee (TC) 209.
A new working group, Liquid Particle Counters, will be meeting at the 2006 IEST Fall Conference. Join your peers in sharing exciting developments in this new area of interest. All interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend this new working group meeting, where the latest ideas will be discussed for use in a Recommended Practice.
