Where's our innovation strategy?
Abstract:
When Prime Minister Stephen Harper visits U.S. President George W. Bush on July 6 he should use the opportunity to propose a plan for Canada-U.S. co-operation on science and technology projects to improve the competitiveness of Canadian and U.S. companies.
Although its focus is most likely to be on regulatory issues, border security and infrastructure, the three leaders identified areas of science and technology co-operation as well. These included energy, food safety, infectious diseases, security, environmental technologies, biotechnology, nanotechnology and animal diseases.
