Nanotech spokesman wrangles new microscope
Abstract:
Eric Stach has worked with electron microscopes for 15 years but he's still trying to figure out how to get the FEI Titan to work. The Birck Nanotechnology Center's electron microscope arrived about a week ago and some of the kinks still need to be worked out. However, this is a step up from what Stach used to use.
"I used to use the old (electron microscope) in the Materials Engineering building. It was installed when I was in about the eighth grade, so it was time for an update," said Stach, a professor of materials engineering.
