Dr. David Lemberg, Executive Producer of "Science and Society" announces the show schedule for Wednesday, 05/17/06, 1PM to 2PM Pacific.

Of particular interest to Nanotechnology Now readers are interviews with:

Walter Murch, Academy Award–winning Film Editor and Sound Designer
Dr. Betsy Dresser, Director, Audubon Center for Research of Endangered Species and the Freeport-McMoRan Audubon Species Survival Center, New Orleans, LA

Mr. Murch was Film Editor for “The English Patient”, “Cold Mountain”, and “The Godfather Trilogy”, and Sound Designer for “Apocalypse Now”, “The Conversation”, and “American Graffiti”. He will discuss the impact of film in the realms of education and human growth and development, as well as entertainment. Mr. Murch will also discuss the “spectrum of sound” — “embodied” sound and “encoded” sound — and creating a balanced composition of sound in a film.

Dr. Dresser will discuss new research in cloning and stem cell work, and the Audubon Center’s work with endangered species, particularly whooping cranes and African wildcats.
