Smart Imaging Technologies Secures Venture Funding by Aegis

Smart Imaging Technologies Co. (“SIT”), the
provider of SIMAGIS®, “Smart Imaging Spreadsheet” software for scientific and
industrial image analysis, has secured funding by Aegis Texas Venture Fund, LP
(“Aegis”).
The Company, which has established the leading position in nanoscale image
analysis, will use the funds to expand its sales and marketing operations to
capitalize on growth opportunities in the nanotechnology, biotechnology, and
material science fields.
“We are excited about our business prospects in these rapidly growing markets.
Aegis’ involvement will help us realize these opportunities as we expand our
Company,” said Vitali Khvatkov, Founder and CEO of Smart Imaging
Technologies.
The Company’s primary product, SIMAGIS®, is a platform for automated image
analysis for both science and industry. “SIMAGIS produces extremely rapid,
accurate and reliable data from analyzed images, which until now, had to be
analyzed manually or may not have been practical,” said Kevin Dragan, partner at
Aegis. “We have been impressed with the Company’s products and its ability to
secure such marquee customers as NASA, Rice University, Hewlett Packard and
Seagate Technologies.”
