Dr. David Lemberg, Executive Producer of "Science and Society" announces the show schedule for Wednesday, 04/26/06, 1PM to 2PM Pacific.

Of particular interest to Nanotechnology Now readers are interviews with:

  • Dr. Michael E. Zolensky, Co-investigator, Stardust Discovery Mission, NASA Johnson Space Center
  • Dr. Rogene Eichler West, Mathematician, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Professor of Fractal Geometry, Washington State University

Dr. Zolensky will discuss Stardust, NASA’s comet sample return mission. Stardust flew within 150 miles of the comet Wild 2 in January 2004, and completed its seven-year journey in January 2006.

Dr. Eichler West will discuss multiscale mathematics, a method of using calculus to process data at widely different scales, and developing a new mathematics curriculum for high schools.

Dr. Duma will discuss the Eye Injury Research Program, “hip airbags”, and the world's first computer model simulating a pregnant uterus and fetus at the 7.5-month stage, which is being used by automakers to test restraint designs.
