Nanotube bandgap shifts with temperature

Abstract:
Researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, US, have measured how the bandgap of semiconducting carbon nanotubes changes with temperature. The results should enable scientists to measure the effect of external strain on nanotubes in different environments more precisely, by calculating and removing temperature effects.
