Abstract:
A critical financial and capability analysis of the producing Nanotechnology industry in China
nABACUS® Pty Ltd today announced that the
company released the first industry report for 2006 in its BlueBook® Series of industrial
Nanotechnology reports.
“The China Industrial Nanotechnology Report 2006 is the culmination of twelve months
analysis of companies involved in producing commercially available original Nanotechnology
and Nanotechnology enhanced products in China,” said Yingqui He, Chief Analyst China of
nABACUS®.
From the over 600 Nanotechnology firms investigated a selection of the 80 most active and
to be watched firms made it into the BlueBook® report. Companies were analyzed for their
degree of engagement in development or production of Nanotechnologies as well as capacity
to produce at industrial scale. “We were very impressed about the quality of companies
we came across. Over 90% of companies covered in this report are ISO certified,” said Ms
He.
What is included in this report?
The report only covers companies which reside in mainland China. Only companies with
demonstrated industrial scale activities of producing original Nanotechnology products or
Nanotechnology enhanced products have been included in this report. A company had to
have at least RMB 10 million of either annual turnover or registered capital to be considered
for inclusion in this report, which made it possible to also highlight uniquely positioned,
fast growing companies that may be of interest to foreign companies for licensing
or investment opportunities. A large fraction of companies included in this report (50%)
have reported an annual turnover of over RMB 100 million.
What is not included in this report?
The number of Nanotechnology companies is growing on an almost daily basis, however,
only a fraction of the widely published figure of Nanotechnology companies in China has
some meaningful production output (if at all), or financial turnover or dedicated full time employees. In the selection of companies we excluded academic organizations acting as
companies and the many very small companies affiliated to academic organizations which
are frequently run on a part time basis by academics or academicians. Also not included
are companies where we were unable to verify claims of active Nanotechnology development,
Nanotechnology products or Nanotechnology usage in production. The report does
not include companies with Nanotechnology developing and production sites in Taiwan and
Hong Kong.
