Nanotech firm helps defend against fakes
Abstract:
The FBI figures that fake goods cost American businesses as much as $250 billion a year. This "growth industry" has put a local nanotech company on the world map. Authentix Inc., based in Addison, Texas, has created incredibly small identifying microbes that can be put into products or on packaging. Using special equipment, field testers can immediately spot the pristine from the fakes.
