Technology can fundamentally improve world, humankind

Abstract:
Mark Darty has spent his entire career working on projects that the average person could not even imagine. Darty recently sat down with Memphis Business Journal to discuss how technology has changed our lives in the last 10 years, thanks in part to the Internet and wireless technology becoming integral parts of every day life, as well as where nanotechnology will take us in the next 10 years.

The first ways we'll see nanotech affect our lives will probably be invisible to us. If you buy something like a better tire or plastic that lasts longer, you may not know why and you don't have to know, but nanotech fibers were added to make it better. You'll see a tag that says water repellent, but that'll be it. If you go further back, you'll find nanotech. It'll sneak up on us as consumers.
