Panel urges expanded program

Abstract:
Minnesota should build a "world-class" public research and teaching facility in downtown Rochester focused on health sciences, business and technology and controlled by the University of Minnesota, a governor's panel recommended Wednesday.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty said Wednesday the plan would help "position southeastern Minnesota and the entire state to be on the cutting edge in strategic fields including biomedicine, health sciences and nanotechnology."
