Physics professor receives award for lifetime achievements

Abstract:
David Tomanek, professor of theoretical condensed matter, has been named a 2005 recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Distinguished Senior Scientist Research Award. Professor Tomanek received the award in recognition of his life-long contributions to the field of computational nanotechnology. He is a pioneer in the field of fullerenes and nanotubes and has strengthened international collaborations in the field of nanotechnology by organizing international workshops and conferences.
