Warner unveils education proposal
Abstract:
Tech will receive state funds to help build a $35 million building for its Institute of Critical Technology and Applied Science, though the amount of the state's support was unclear even to Tech officials on Wednesday. Researchers at the institute are using nanotechnology methods to develop advanced materials for drug delivery and for injury and disease prevention, among other things.
Tech President Charles Steger said materials developed through nanotechnology "can be translated into products from automobiles to hip replacements."
