Exposure to nanomaterials activates genes
Abstract:
Researchers from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the University of Kentucky, Affymetrix and the University of California, San Francisco, have found that exposing human skin cells to multiwalled carbon nanotubes and multiwalled carbon nano-onions arrests cell cycles and increases cell death. The team looked at gene expression profiles and discovered that exposure to the nanomaterials disturbs a number of cellular pathways.
