Small Pill Means Big Money
Abstract:
Nano is the new buzzworld for applications ranging from cosmetics to computers. Divya Nair considers the huge potential of this "small" field.
Such is the buzz that any product that has a nanobiotechnology tag generates as much interest as the money it promises. However, it is about time we realise that not everything which looks small and promises magic is nanobiotechnology. "It is because of people's limited understanding of nanobio-technology that they end up being taken for a ride. The hype is such that people might eventually end up losing faith in the science," fears Dr Arup Chatterjee, Faculty Member at IIT and Research Scientist, Nanote-chnology at Mahindra & Mahindra.
