Dr. David Lemberg
Host - Science and Society
San Diego, CA | November 07, 2005
Dr. David Lemberg, Executive Producer of "Science and Society" - http://www.scienceandsociety.net - announces the show schedule for Wednesday, 11/09/05, 1PM to 2PM Pacific.
Of particular interest to Nanotechnology Now readers are the interviews with:
- Dr. Carlo Montemagno
Dr. Montemagno's research is focused on the application of nanotechnology to biological systems. He is well known for having engineered and fabricated the first nanobiomechanical motor system. This effort named him a Finalist in Discovery Magazine’s Technological Innovations of the Year in the field of Emergent Technology. His current research projects are directed at the development of biomolecular motor–powered nanoelectromechanical devices, muscle-powered MEMS devices, microrobotics, and the engineering of on-chip detectors for pathogens.
- Dr. Kathleen Dunn
Dr. Dunn is Assistant Professor of Nanoscience at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at the University of Albany–State University of New York. Dr. Dunn received her B.S. in Applied Physics from Cornell University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science (2001) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on defect analysis and strain engineering of III-nitride materials for blue LEDs and lasers. Since joining CNSE, her specialization in transmission electron microscopy has led her to become involved in a wide array of nanotechnology programs, from the nature of conductivity in a variety of systems (including traditional metals, spintronics, and high temperature superconductors) to the study of fundamental ion-solid interactions.
