IEST Fall Conference 2005

Rolling Meadows, Ill | September 20, 2005

Registration for the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST) annual Fall Conference, November 13-16, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg (near Chicago O’Hare International Airport), Illinois is now open. The meeting will include contamination control working group sessions as well as a variety of tutorial classes covering issues related to cleanrooms and controlled environments.

New this year, a tutorial on Nanotechnology will be offered. The all-day tutorial will include an overview of nanotechnology and the building environment it requires. Another tutorial this year will address Biocontamination. The course will cover detection, enumeration, and identification of microorganisms. Robert Mielke of Abbott Laboratories will be the instructor for the ISO Standards Certificate Program. The certificate is composed of the tutorials related to ISO 14644-1: Classification of air cleanliness, ISO 14644-2: Specifications for testing and monitoring to prove compliance with ISO 14644-1, and ISO 14644-3: Test methods.

Three new working groups ― Nanotechnology, Recommended Actions Following Disruptions in Cleanroom Operations, and Methods of Cleaning Cleanrooms and Equipment ― will be meeting for the first time at the IEST Fall Conference. Members of existing IEST Working Groups and other interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend these new working group meetings, where the latest Recommended Practices will be discussed and developed.
