Penn State Board of Trustees meets; President Spanier's remarks
Abstract:
So I am pleased to report that Governor Rendell was on campus at the end of May to present a symbolic $40 million check that will match University funds for a new Materials Science Building.
This new building will allow us to bring people together by centralizing shared facilities for materials characterization and testing, nano- and micro-scale fabrication and prototyping, and computational design of materials and processes. Primary technical emphasis will be on electronic materials and devices; optical materials and sensors; surfaces, interfaces and coatings; nanoscale science, materials simulation and modeling, and materials synthesis and processing.
