Supplier expansions underscore industry health
Abstract:
The JEC Composites Show (April 5-7) in Paris was the forum for a number of suppliers announcements about new plant construction and/or production expansions, in response to robust demand from the marketplace.
Arkema and nanotech developer Zyvex followed up their February 2005 announcement of a nanotechnology partnership with the at-show revelation of a new plant in Lacq, France. Designed to produce 300 metric tonnes (661,387 lb) per year of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs), the new Lacq plant previously turned out only 5 metric tonnes (11,023 lb) per year.
