Hostettler Amends, Supports Defense Authorization Bill

Abstract:
The House Armed Services Committee on Thursday passed a bill authorizing Department of Defense activities and programs for fiscal year 2006, including several projects and policies added by U.S. Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN) to benefit Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center and the Crane Army Ammunition Activity.

The Crane projects funded in the bill (include):

$4 million for a joint project between Crane, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research to establish an Agile Micro-electromechanical Systems (MEMS) and NanoTechnology Center that will focus on the application of these state-of-the-art technologies for national security needs.
