Envisioning a big future in nanotechnology
Abstract:
Beer in plastic containers as tasty as brew in glass bottles. Ink-jet printer photographs that never fade. Transparent zinc-oxide sunscreen that doesn't turn your nose white. Clothes that are completely stain-resistant, yet are made from breathable fabric.
Welcome to the wild and very, very, very tiny world of nanotechnology.
After premature hype a few years ago, followed by a predictable bout of disillusionment, nanotechnology is finally emerging from research labs into real products. Everything listed above has either happened or will happen within the next few years.
