Q&A: GE Healthcare Technologies CEO Joe Hogan
Abstract:
Ramakrishnan: What are your strategies as far as nanotechnology-based medical systems?
Hogan: I see nanotechnology as a future contributor to a number of breakthroughs in healthcare technology. Nanoscience will allow us to change materials compositions and drive innovation. A good example would be a new type of material that is more efficient in producing X-rays than the X-ray tubes we use today. These materials would be much more energy efficient and would subject patients to a much lower radiation dosage. We're working on that science today at our Global Research Center.
