Groups build technology hub
Abstract:
"Nanotechnology will be pervasive in literally everything I can imagine, in all types of products and all types of materials," said Jennifer Rick, managing director of the life sciences network at the Pittsburgh Technology Council.
"Our vision for the region is that we will become the nanomaterials hub of the planet," said Steven Zylstra, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Technology Council, Catalyst Connection and the Doyle Center for Manufacturing Technology. "There's no reason we can't. We have the companies and the academic institutions. All we need is the focus and the funding."
"Companies who don't do that (invest in nanotechnology) in this decade won't be around in 2020," Mr. Maloney said. "This is going to be the emerging technology of our generation."
