Building a Machinery Hub in Central Taiwan
Abstract:
Taiwan’s president, Chen Shui-bian, also visited the show. He announced that the central part of the island would be developed as a stronghold for the domestic precision, nanotechnology-based and biotechnology-based machinery industry.
In addition, the early investments in nanotech and biotech machinery will reach NT$10 million (US$325 million) in 2007. It is estimated the sector will generate NT$20 million (US$650,000) per year in patent royalties.
