Eikos Begins Production of Carbon Nanotube Invisicon Ink

Eikos

Franklin, MA | March 15, 2005

EIKOS, a developer and licensor of highly transparent carbon nanotube (CNT) inks for conductive coatings and circuits, has begun production and delivery of its Invisicon(TM) ink.

Customers plan to use the carbon nanotube Invisicon Ink for a variety of applications in which printed circuits are created on clear, flexible plastic coatings (above).

Carbon nanotube coatings offer numerous advantages to Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) used in displays, which has become very expensive and increasingly in short supply. CNT is far more abundant, and will become significantly less expensive to acquire and manufacture into transparent conductive coatings.

In addition, CNTs combine higher transparency and conductivity with flexibility. Using Invisicon inks, flexible color print displays will be possible to manufacture in the not too distant future.
