Nanotechnology Perceptions Journal

March 11, 2005

A new publication is being launched in March 2005. Called Nanotechnology Perceptions: a Review of Ultraprecision Engineering and Nanotechnology, it differs sharply from the innumerable newsletters offering information about events in the scientific, technical and commercial world. The content of Nanotechnology Perceptions is written by leaders for leaders-by leaders in ultraprecision engineering and nanotechnology for leaders in industry, commerce, politics and public administration. Containing only original essays, it aims to inform and stimulate, by providing an eclectic mixture of broad and deep insight into the latest technological issues, and critical comment and analysis of the ways nanotechnology's impact is perceived by the world.

"An indispensable compass for navigating in the uncharted oceans of nanotechnology." "I want to know how extravagant are some of the seemingly wildly improbable claims made for the likely impacts of nanotechnology on society?" "It is difficult to remain aloof ... it will be more necessary than with any previous technological revolution to be able to understand something of the hidden layers lying beneath the objects we can perceive."

Nanotechnology Perceptions offers sober assessment and incisive, impartial critique. It is a 'must read' for all those who must make decisions based on an appraisal of the potential - and risks - of nanotechnology in their areas of interest and activity.
