Rapra Opens Up Nano Compound Opportunities
Abstract:
Rapra Technology, Europe's leading polymer research and test house, has begun 2005 with an ambitious 12 month research project into the effects of melt processing of montmorillonite type of nanoclays when combined with selected polyamides and polypropylenes.
Rondol Chairman Brian Murray notes that 'Rapra management have recognised the industry shift towards research and development in key sectors such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and medical devices and have equipped the laboratories accordingly. The opportunity for clients to work closely with Rapra in developing new advanced materials with added value will be a boost for UK polymers and good also for the local economy of the Midlands.'
