China sees a re-birth of IT venture capital interest
Abstract:
China, and particularly Shanghai, is experiencing renewed interest from international and domestic venture capital, with VC firms referring to the city as being at a similar stage of development and having a similar atmosphere to the U.S.'s Silicon Valley in the 1970s.
Barrell said that the Cambridge area, with its highly successful technology driven economy, has always looked to the global economy for its markets. He predicts the future areas for investment are the converging areas of biotechnology, information technology and nanotechnology.
