Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt Honored As Service Provider Company Of The Year At 2004 Tech Awards

Portland, OR – November 19, 2004

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, a multi-service regional law firm, was recognized as Service Provider Company of the Year at the 2004 Technology Awards dinner and reception held Nov. 18 at the Governor Hotel.

In its 21st year, the Technology Awards honor the Northwest’s most influential technology companies and executives, while raising money for critical community programs provided by the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Schwabe received the award for its innovative new service offerings, civic and community efforts and transformational leadership in the technology industry and Oregon economy. In August 2004, Schwabe launched the Pacific Northwest’s first Nanotechnology and Microtechnology Practice Group. The firm also provides niche expertise in healthcare IT and display system technologies, among others.

“Schwabe has been a key driver, leader and contributor in nearly every major economic development initiative involving the tech sector in our region,” said David Chen, partner, Oregon Venture Partners, in recommending Schwabe for the award.

“Four years ago, Schwabe incorporated Youth Exploring Science as an Oregon nonprofit corporation, and they have provided all our legal counsel since that time. It is not an exaggeration to say that the 2004 Intel International Science & Engineering Fair could not have taken place in Portland without them," said Eve Menger, founder and president, Youth Exploring Science.
