FTC's Plan To Change The Patent System

Abstract:
Antitrust agencies, such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), have become more concerned with patent firms' activities. Recently, the FTC recommended proposals to change patent policy. The reason for the proposals was to improve patent quality and to lower restrictions on competition. Another concern is to provide better quality patents so that patentees do not have more protection than what they are entitled to. To do this, the FTC has recently proposed certain guidelines that raise the bar for those seeking patent protection.
