Platypus Technologies Announces Addition of New Product Line: Contact Printing Kits-in-a-Bag

October 6, 2004

Platypus Technologies is pleased to announce the addition of its newest product line: Contact Printing Kits. These Kits will allow researchers to transfer a chemical or biological agent from a low energy PDMS surface to a high energy gold or glass printing surface. In addition, gold-coated printing surfaces may be functionalized. Each Kit includes the User's choice of, 1) 3 PDMS stamps, 2) Printing surfaces, and 3) Thiols to functionalize printing surfaces. These Kits will enable scientists to print biological molecules onto a high energy surface, micro- or nano-pattern chemistries onto a surface, print molecules onto a self-assembled monolayer (SAM), or pattern SAMs.

Platypus Technologies develops, produces, and markets nanotechnologies for the physical and life sciences. Platypus is also developing a range of products based on a proprietary platform technology using liquid crystals for the rapid detection of molecular interactions. This technology fuses recent advances in nanoscale science, materials science and molecular biology to provide advanced tools for proteomics, cell biology, environmental monitoring and in vitro diagnostics. Platypus Technologies is located in the University Research Park in Madison, WI. The Company's website is www.platypustech.com
