IBM assist in technology transfer
Abstract:
Recently the Science Ministry sent researchers from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) to work with IBM scientist Don Eigler to learn about nanotechnology development at IBM.
During their stay, the Thai researchers worked with IBM scientists to study materials at the atomic level, and they helped manipulate atoms. Manipulating materials at the atomic level allows scientists to understand the properties of various materials so they can use small-scale molecular interactions to develop new components, devices and materials, atom by atom, to suit specific needs.
