Women join supervisory ranks at lab

Abstract:
Cherry Murray, a senior vice president at Bell Labs, will take over the job of deputy director for science and technology (at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory). Murray said she is excited about the emerging role of nanotechnology at the lab. "We now know how to manipulate things on the atomic scale, and that's going to affect everything." Murray's salary will be $305,000.
