Nanotech-center bid is rare joint effort
Abstract:
Cleveland's three major medical institutions are teaming up to try to persuade the government to locate a major new research center here that will harness nanotechnology to fight cancer.
The National Cancer Institute announced plans Monday for at least five "centers of excellence" around the country. The centers are supposed to accelerate efforts to create molecule-sized products for detection, treatment and prevention of cancer a group of diseases that will strike 1.4 million Americans this year.
