Teleport lifts quantum computing

Abstract:
A leading candidate architecture for quantum computing -- trapped ions -- has received a significant boost with a pair of teleportation experiments that show is possible to reliably and readily shuttle information within a quantum computer. The experiments, from the University of Innsbruck in Austria and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), have also advanced the practice of teleportation.
