RPI to conduct joint research on nanotech lubricant
Abstract:
Researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of Florida will use $2.5 million in federal funds to develop a synthetic lubricant for aircraft and spacecraft. RPI's portion of the five-year-award comes to $1 million. Researchers at the school's Nanotechnology Center will use the funds to develop a lubricant that remains effective on Earth and in outer space.
