Israeli researchers develop nano delivery method for nutrients
Abstract:
Two Israeli Ph. D. students have won an award from Hebrew University of Jerusalem for their work on the development of 'nanovehicles' that can successfully transport the desired components through the digestive system. While consuming foods that are high in the nutrients is admirable, most bioactive phytochemicals (chemical components derived from plants) are not soluble in water, and therefore their absorption via the digestive system is very limited. The beneficial components simply pass through our bodies.
