Nanotech expert promises big things
Abstract:
Robert Yang, the new chief executive of the government-funded Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (Astri), plans to add nanotechnology to research activities because it is increasingly becoming a key driver for new technologies. Yang, previously executive vice-president at Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute and head of its national nanotechnology programme, said: "In the next 10 years, the Greater China region will rise up to become the world's most vibrant technology centre."
