Nanotubes roll up for novel structures
Abstract:
Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, have made rolled-up nanotubes of InAs/GaAs with tube walls containing alternating layers of crystalline and noncrystalline material. The team also used a laser to alter the structure of these radial superlattices: the treatment produced small regions of β-Ga2O3.
