FAA creates center of excellence for advanced materials
Abstract:
The U.S. Federal Aviation Admin. (FAA) has created a new Air Transportation Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials. The new center, awarded jointly to the University of Washington and Wichita State University, joins six existing Centers of Excellence (COE) created by the agency since 1992. The new center's mission is to research, develop and prototype composite materials for use in large commercial aircraft.
