Lotion Offers Menopause Relief

Abstract:
Millions of women go through it: hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and problems with sleep. Estrogen pills and patches can relieve them short term. But for women who can't, or won't take them, there's now another alternative, recently approved by the FDA. "It's a once a day treatment. A lotion-like material is rubbed on the thighs once in the morning, and this will relieve the symptoms of menopause," said clinical pharmacologist Denis O’Donnel. The cream contains estrogen, encapsulated in tiny nano-particles which are quickly absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream.
