Virginia warehouse to become nanotechnology manufacturer
Abstract:
Luna Technologies, based in Blacksburg, Va., is converting a former tobacco warehouse in Danville into one of the nation's first plants for making nanomaterials, so small that they involve the manipulation of molecules to make new products. In the case of the Danville plant, the products being developed would be for national defense applications such as light body armor, radar-absorbing coatings, tiny sensors and unmanned aircraft.
