Multi-Million Dollar Research Program Expanded
Abstract:
The U.S. semiconductor industry announced today the infusion of $29 million into its six-year-old collegiate research program that matches the nation's top researchers with long-term technology challenges. The Focus Center Research Program was launched in 1998 with only two universities, but now encompasses 30 across the nation, making advances in everything from nanotechnology to national security. "This is our industry's most ambitious research effort to keep the American semiconductor industry at the forefront of innovation," Intel CEO Craig Barrett said in a statement.
