Versatile nanotubes use gold and silver
Abstract:
A new type of nanotube with "unique properties" has been constructed of gold, silver, and other tiny particles by scientists at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot. The tubes exhibit electrical, optical and other properties, depending on their components, that do not exist in other nanotubes, and thus may form the basis for future nanosensors, catalysts and chemistry-on-a-chip systems.
