The physics of DNA detection
Abstract:
Linking nanoparticles with strands of DNA offers a highly sensitive way of sensing particular DNA sequences. A theory of how it works suggests ways to make the method more reliable. Schemes for detecting DNA strands with specific sequences, based on the aggregation of nanoparticles, can be made more sensitive and reliable thanks to a theory developed by researchers in the Netherlands.
