Tech Valley may include a Forest

During a tour of Albany NanoTech at the University at Albany last week, Michael Fancher, director of economic outreach, described the hot new science as a means to "have an infinite periodic table." Not that it adds new elements, but it makes the ones already there have endless possibilities, he added. LaMar Hill, director of business development, offered an example using copper. "As you make the copper crystals smaller and smaller and smaller, they get to a magic point where the electrons that would normally just flow through copper like a river are constrained by the surface of the crystal," Hill said.
