Abstract:
Imagine a pair of tweezers so fine they can grasp not just a hair but a single atom 1/100,000th the width of that hair. Such tools exist and made possible the birth of nanotechnology -- the quickly growing field of engineering that deals with things on the scale of a few billionths of a meter.
