UMASS Seeks to Push Nanotech into Big Time
Abstract:
Researchers at the University of Massachusetts are making breakthroughs in the science needed to produce a new generation of powerful computers, tiny machines, and unique materials, and now they want to move their work out of the lab and into the marketplace. UMass this week launches a new center that aims not only to further advance its basic research into nanotechnology, but to turn the results into commercial products and applications. The new center, called MassNanoTech, will bring together scientists across several disciplines and expand collaboration with industry partners, with the goal of moving research from concept to prototype.
